LinearComma

COMMA × LINEAR

From Linear issue to work done.

Keep the request where your team already works. Assign an issue to Comma or mention @Comma, then follow the work back in Linear.

For product and engineering work that starts in an issue.

KEEP THE WORK CONNECTED

One issue. A continuing Task.
A result you can follow.

PRODUCT-128

Make the collapse button easier to tap

The target is too small. Make it 24px and keep the existing layout.

@Comma Take this issue and explain the change.

Comma Task
In progress → Result

The work moves forward.
The thread stays connected.

Execution runs as a Task. Progress and results return to the issue, including a pull request link when the Worker opens one.

Illustrative workflow · not a live product session

START WITH A CLEAR OUTCOME

What will you hand over first?

Describe the result, include the relevant context, and make the boundary clear.

01

Move a bug beyond triage

Hand over a clear bug report with the expected behavior and acceptance criteria. Give the work an owner without writing another briefing in a separate chat.

@Comma Investigate this bug and make the smallest change that meets the acceptance criteria.
02

Give a small improvement a clear next step

A focused issue is a useful starting point for a bounded change. Keep the original requirement beside the conversation that moves it forward.

@Comma Update the collapse button target to 24px and explain what changed.
03

Get an answer before starting execution

Not every issue needs implementation immediately. Ask for an explanation, a triage, or a plan before deciding what to delegate.

@Comma Explain the likely cause and outline a plan before making changes.

CONNECT YOUR WORKSPACE

How to connect Linear to Comma

  1. 1

    Open Channels

In Comma Settings, open Channels and choose Linear.

  2. 2

    Authorize your account

Connect your Linear identity. A workspace admin approves the first installation; each person then links their own account.

  3. 3

    Delegate an issue

Assign it to Comma or mention @Comma. Questions can receive an answer in the issue; work that needs execution becomes a Task.

A HANDOFF WITH BOUNDARIES

Choose the work.
Keep the decision.

Use a focused issue with a result you can inspect. Clear acceptance criteria make it easier to judge what came back.

Your Comma workspace owns the delegated work. Review the Task in Comma when you need the full conversation.

Linear integration FAQ

How do I start work from Linear?

Assign an issue to Comma or mention @Comma in a comment.

Do I need a Linear admin?

An admin is needed for the first installation in your Linear workspace. Other people then link their own accounts.

What runs the Task?

Connect your Codex or Claude Code, or use Comma credits for a cloud Worker. A direct answer in the issue does not need a Worker.

Can I stop work?

Yes. Use Stop in the Linear session. Closing the issue or assigning it away also stops a running Task.

Already working in Linear?

Keep your team’s issue tracker as the starting point. Use Comma to carry a well-defined request into execution.
